· Brief History of the Presentation Brothers - West Africa Province
· In 1968, three Presentation Brothers arrived in Ghana, then known as the Gold Coast to begin their mission in the Navrongo Diocese in the Northern part of the country. The three Brothers initially started teaching in St. John Bosco Teacher Training College and six years later transferred to Notre Dame Minor Seminary also in Navrongo but maintained their association with the Training College.
· In 1982 the first tentative steps were taken when young men expressed a desire to follow the way of life of the Brothers. The following year, a novitiate was established in Navrongo. In 1988 a second community was opened in Bolgatanga, the district capital of the Upper East Region. As numbers grew, a more suitable and appropriate site for a novitiate was sought in the early 90s and in 1993 the novitiate was transferred to a newly constructed house in Logre, Kongo, a few miles from Bolgatanga.
· In 2002 a fourth community opened in Yendi, a two mile drive South East of the district capital of the Northern Region, Tamale. In 2006, a house was purchased in Tamale which is the Provincial house for the Province. Today, there are six communities, seven finally professed Ghanaian Brothers, thirteen temporary professed and a significant number of Postulants and Novices in the Province. In March 2007, Br. John Guinane volunteered for Nigeria where he established a new community and a post Primary school in Tafawa Balewa, in the Bauchi diocese.
· The Presentation Brothers are engaged in the ministry of education but are also are involved in development work in the Province. They are associated with many different ministries such as bringing clean drinking water to communities, helping to build clinics renovate churches in villages as well as sharing the Word of God with people. The Presentation Brothers have built schools such as; Presentation Brothers Junior High School in Logre and Presentation Brothers Secondary School in Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi, Nigeria. They also teach in St. Charles Lwanga, Yendi and a number of other government schools in Northern Ghana. The Presentation Brothers mark forty years of presence in Ghana this year.

· Brief History of the Presentation Brothers - Our Lady of the Americas Province

· The Presentation Brothers first came to North America in 1845, when three brothers went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This first mission was short lived.

· In 1910, the Presentation Brothers went to the east end of Montreal, Quebec, Canada to assist with the education of the children of Irish immigrants. For the next 58 years, the brother's education ministry in North America was confined to the Montreal area.

· In 1968, on the invitation of the late Bishop Fergus O'Grady, the Presentation Brothers opened a mission in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. In 1972, the brothers opened a community in Marshall, Missouri, USA.

· At the General Chapter of 2005, it was mandated that there should be a union of the North American region and the West Indian region of the Congregation. The new entity became the Our Lady of the Americas Province.

· At present, the OLA Province has communities in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Kissimmee, Florida, USA; Castries, St. Lucia; and St. George's, Grenada.
