Making the road by walking it

A Way into the Future made further progress last week when the Chairs of all of our ‘Spark Groups’ came to Rome to meet with the Core Team. We worked hard to further clarify the outline proposal to the Congregation of Christian Brothers so that now the end is in sight for this phase of refining the validations. The Congregation Leadership Team wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to all those involved in this work over the past months.

For the next phase – the mapping of a pathway to our desired future – new groupings have been formed and again we extend our gratitude to those who have agreed to help. Please keep them in your prayer. The present phase involves working out the steps necessary to get us from the present to the envisioned future. We’re calling it ‘gap analysis”.

The outline proposal will be presented to the members of the Province/Region leadership teams in October in Nairobi. Following that, it will be shared with the Brothers across the world.

In the monthly reflection letters – posted on this website, four to date – we try to give a sense of the thinking behind the outline proposal. You are encouraged to reflect on them, pray about them, and discuss the ideas with your community. We are delighted that various Edmund Rice groups are using the letters for their reflection.
